Data: Meade LX200GPS 8", focal reducer, Canon T3i camera.
Imaging: Four 120sec subs stacked (total 8 minutes) with DSS, iso800

About La Pine Observatory

It has always been a dream of mine to have a place to store and use my various telescopes. After purchasing an original C8 and a 13 inch Dobsonian telescope, I knew I had to finally build an observatory to put them in.

This is a roll-off roof design. The interior is 8 foot by 8 foot, just barely enough room for my needs at present. There is still some work to be done to make the roll-off roof easier to move (it turned out to be much heavier than I expected...but then, it will not blow off!)

My desire is to produce some good quality images of the night sky and bring awareness to the awesome creativity of God in the starry heavens.
